At McVeigh Massage Santa Barbara the massage therapists have a lot of traits in common. The kind of traits everyone likes to see in a massage therapist. Each massage therapist has a passion for what they do, they are punctual and professional (with a casual feel. That kind of ties into the whole friendly thing), we genuinely care about our clients and the massage profession, we deeply appreciate the respect and consideration that we have been shown by our clients in the McVeigh Massage community, and we show the same in return. Each of us wants to continue to grow individually and together, so we can serve you better.
We do massage, Santa Barbara style. Seriously casual, or casually serious. I’m not sure which!
In any case, Santa Barbara locals take health seriously but have a casual way of living. We are a casual massage studio and each therapist has their own unique style and personality. Our massage therapists/bodyworkers offer the highest quality massage there is to offer in Santa Barbara, but each persons individual style is a little different. We don’t want cookie cut the wonderful individuals listed below. Please take your time to view their profiles so you can find the therapist whose style will click with you. Don’t forget, if you purchase one of our very well priced 4-packs of massage, you can redeem each massage with any of our therapists. We are a team here and we encourage you to try other therapists. We do our best to offer you a variety of available times, so you can fit your massage around your busy schedule.

Roger
Roger spent a large part of his younger days tinkering with motor bikes, this innate curiosity of mechanics led him into the United States Air Force where he worked on the electrics for the guidance and controls of C130 cargo aircraft. Roger has been doing massage for 12 of the 14 years he spent in Santa Barbara. Bodywork was a natural step for him since he has always had an interest in science and particularly the mechanics of the body. At Santa Barbara Massage school he was trained in many therapeutic massage techniques. He studied deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, cranial sacral techniques, prenatal massage (pregnancy massage), myofascial release, foot reflexology, lomi lomi (A Hawaiian massage style with full body flowing strokes) and of course Swedish massage. At McVeigh Massage Roger has continued to refine his technique, while maintaining his passion for problem solving and understand body mechanics. He can ratchet up the pressure with ease, but more importantly he will problem solve, and communicate with you during your massage to find the root of you mechanical breakdown. Roger loves to work with clients who have challenging physical problems, such as frozen shoulder, plantar fasciitis, sacroiliac (SI) problems. He is very focused on relieving chronic pain and discomfort, and increasing range of motion for his clients, so if you have been having some performance issues, Roger’s massage will have you firing on all cylinders in no time.
Keely
Keely is a natural when it comes to massage, she has a gentle intuitive style, and she can ease into those trouble spots. Just let her know and she can crank up the pressure for those moments when deep tissue is needed. Don’t let her calm demeanor fool you, she is one tough lady when it came to sports. She has enjoyed competing in golf, volleyball and softball throughout her youth, and knows what it’s like to push your body into the injury zone, and that has helped her understand injuries and how to help them through massage therapy. Santa Barbara became home to Keely 7 years ago. She was initially attracted to Santa Barbara to go to photography school. Keely still does some fine art photography from time-to-time but has dedicated herself to the art of massage for now. Her massage repertoire includes, Swedish, deep tissue massage, cranial sacral therapy, energy work, lymphatic drainage, Tui Na (ancient Chinese massage), reflexology/ foot massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release and acupressure. She uses a blend of these modalities to create a massage that not only alleviates stress, but reduces pain and tension on both the energetic and physical level
Priya
Do you know that feeling you have when you’re sitting, taking in the sights and sounds around you, sipping a warm cup of herbal tea, wrapped in your favorite shall or hoodie, as the warm Santa Barbara air begins to give way to the cool pacific breeze? Well, Priya looks like she’s experiencing that all the time. I don’t know how she does it, but she always seems to be present, with a contented warmth. In a busy world, that kind of presence can be pleasantly infectious. Priya’s massage style is sublime. She uses subtle energy healing while, working deep in areas that need that mechanical nudge. Over her 20 years of massage therapy in Santa Barbara and around the world, she has amassed and mastered several massage techniques, including: Jin Shin Do acupressure, Deep tissue massage, Shiatsu (Japanese massage), Tui Na (Chinese Massage), Thai Yoga massage, as well as Reiki. A Massage with Priya, is like taking a trip around the massage world, without leaving Santa Barbara. Pre-natal massage is as a specialty of Priya’s, as she also works as a Doula in addition to working with McVeigh Massage.
Robert
gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything” Plato. O.K. I substituted massage for music, which of course was Plato’s actual quote. In 2004 Robert transitioned to giving soul to the universe, wings to the mind and the flight to imagination through massage, instead of through music, as he did in his Rock days. Now his artistic performances are for an audience of one. The artistry of Roberts massage will win you over as will his tranquility and serenity. Robert developed a solid bodywork foundation, learning Swedish massage, deep tissue massage and myofascial release, before studying advanced technique, body mechanics, and postural analysis, with advanced training in structural integration. Robert is a certified advanced Rolfer © ™ (If you would like to dedicate 10 sessions to a structured approach to improving your posture and body mechanics, please talk to Robert or give us a call to discuss procedures and pricing). Robert takes a lot of time to reflect inwards, through yoga, and meditation. He believes that contemplation and reflection, ensures that he can better apply himself to your massage. In addition to a sound understanding of the structural principals of his body work Robert can provide a flowing integrated, intuitive massage. Stop by and pick up your wings; You’ve got a lot of flying to do!
