David McVeigh

David grew up in a rural village in Ireland. In his mid-teens he developed a personal interest in running, and competed in several Irish road races. During this period of personal development, his involvement with raising athletic performance grew.

Eleven years ago, at the age of 19, he completed a VTCT level 3 course in sports therapy and personal training. During this training process he learned how effective massage treatments could be, if applied properly. He worked for several years at an athletic training facility.  Although he enjoyed doing some sports therapy work there, he was limited in what he could achieve. He understood that with his calm, compassionate personality he would enjoy working in the massage field full time. He could help people thrive by helping improve their form and function. To fully understand bodywork and to improve his technique David enrolled in a two year full time course in applied science therapies.

David spent two seasons with a, Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) football club, and one season working for a GAA county hurling club. He gained invaluable experience through this work. In the pre-game treatment rooms David had to communicate well with the players. It was important that the treatments were quick and effective. During non-game day treatments David had the opportunity to work with a variety of injuries. He quickly built up his skill set.

In 2005, David moved to London, England, where he worked as a massage therapist for a well known company called Body Tissue Services (BTS). He provided deep tissue and Swedish massage for guests at several four and five star hotels in the city.

After his stint in London David crossed the Atlantic and touched down in the beautiful city of Santa Barbara, where his wife was born and raised.  Last year, he and his wife celebrated the birth of their first child, a beautiful son.

David has worked in two local day spas since moving to Santa Barbara and has established himself as a respected, quality therapist in high demand. He continues to grow his private practice and expand his services in this beautiful community.
